Following Christian declarations in the USA (Manhattan Declaration) and UK (http://www.westminster2010.org.uk/declaration/) The Canberra Declaration – a call for Christian Conscience and renewal of Christian Values in Australia – was released on Friday 23 July 2010, in Canberra.

With the election process in full swing, an historic gathering took place on the lawn in front of our Parliament House last Friday at 12.45 pm. I stood with about 60 other Christians to launch this historic Canberra Declaration.

With the media present, indigenous Christian leader Ps Norm Miller lead prayers for our nation and the declaration was read by Dr Graham McLennan from the National Alliance of Christian Leaders.

Over 20 National Christian leaders helped in the drafting of the document and we hope that many thousands more Christians will become signatories to this Canberra Declaration in the coming weeks by registering at www.canberradeclaration.org.au
